Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet

The enchanting classical ballet ‘Nutcracker’, performed by the gifted dancers of The Royal Moscow Ballet. The 2 lead dancers in the troupe are Alexander Smoliyaninov - who has been dancing with the Bolshoi Ballet since 2006, and Liudmila Titova who graduated from Moscow Ballet Academy of The Bolshoi Theatre in 2005, with such prestigious training behind them its little wonder this show has already wowed audiences across the globe in Canada, the US, Africa and many countries across Europe. With 32 dancers and 80 delicately hand made costumes this visually stunning performance will be the first staging of the Nutcracker in Ireland for 5 years.

Choreographer Marius Petipa commissioned Tchaikovsky to score the Nutcracker in 1891 and it premiered a year later in 1892. Although it was initially panned by critics the ballet has gone on to become the most widely performed ballet all over the world.

‘The Nutcracker’ has been enchanting audiences both young and old for over a century and is widely regarded as Tchaikovsky’s greatest and most enduring work.
